The historical records of the University Heights SDA Church, page 1, describes a meeting conducted by Pastor Stephen A Boyce in the parsonage of the Metropolitan SDA Church in Plainfield, New Jersey on June 1, 1983, at which the following took place:
The name “University Heights SDA Church” was finalized when the group considered New Brunswick to be a College Community. Some Seventh-day Adventist young people would be attending the University and would need a church home while attending Rutgers University.
